Growing Conditions

The 2021 growing season was very typical through early spring. Early summer
through harvest gave us some unexpected heatwaves but plenty of mild weather in
between resulting in a slight delay of harvest but mature fruit and flavors.

Nose

Rich aromas of dark fruit, cassis, and vanilla bean.

Palate

Elevated flavors of raspberry and fresh cherry brighten the mid-palate while
baking spices and pepper create a dynamic flavor profile unique to this blend. On
the finish, warm vanilla and firm tannins balance this full-bodied wine.

Aging

The varietals were aged separately for 11 months
in French oak barrels, of which 25% were a mix of once and twice used. The initial
blend was assembled in September of 2022 and barrel-aged an additional 6 months
in 44% new and 56% once used French oak. The wine was racked only twice during
its cellar life, with the final racking occurring just prior to bottling.
